Dream Shadows Residential ApartmentDream Shadows Residential ApartmentDream Shadows Residential Apartment is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully embodies Japanese minimalist aesthetics within a 198-square-meter duplex space, completed in March 2019 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The project, designed by Tsung-Han Teng, demonstrates exceptional spatial organization through its sophisticated integration of public and private areas, featuring a central living and dining space that can function either as a unified area or as separate, undisturbed environments. The design's distinguishing characteristics include a thoughtfully conceived TV wall with display shelves that effectively bridges the living and dining areas while incorporating raised flooring and iron elements to create visual interest. The interior's material palette combines painted iron pieces, wood veneers, system boards, and ultra wear-resistant wood flooring, all executed in earth tones to establish a cohesive visual narrative throughout the space. Notable architectural interventions include wood veneer ceiling treatments that cleverly conceal structural columns, creating a seamless visual flow. The project's commitment to functionality and aesthetic refinement is evident in its careful consideration of lighting, texture, and spatial flow, earning it a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The design successfully creates a harmonious living environment that balances the serene simplicity of Japanese design principles with contemporary functionality, incorporating innovative storage solutions and versatile living spaces that adapt to residents' changing needs while maintaining an atmosphere of sophisticated tranquility.
