Hungarosauna Floating SpaHungarosauna Floating SpaHungarosauna Floating Spa is an innovative architectural project that seamlessly integrates wellness facilities with natural waterfront landscapes, exemplifying sustainable design principles and environmental consciousness. This Silver A' Design Award-winning architectural masterpiece, designed by Gyula Takács, features a sophisticated wooden pillar-frame structure with cross-laminated lintels, creating a harmonious blend between built environment and natural surroundings. The spa complex, spanning 2600 square meters of land area with 350 square meters of net building area, incorporates a unique floating pool system and medicinal water steam chamber that provides an unprecedented sauna experience directly above lake waters. The design's distinctive feature lies in its perpendicular axis orientation, strategically positioned to revitalize underutilized coastline areas while offering year-round accessibility. The structure's exterior and interior surfaces are uniformly clad in timber, resembling a natural tree trunk, while incorporating renewable energy solutions through rooftop solar panels. The architectural composition includes a thoughtfully designed lakeside promenade with piers and aquatic plant boxes, creating a harmonious transition between land and water. The facility maintains a modest 13.5% installation percentage relative to the design area, with 66% dedicated to green surfaces, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental preservation. The building's 5.9-meter facade height complements its surroundings while providing optimal spatial organization for its wellness functions. This architectural innovation represents a significant advancement in spa design, offering adaptable functionality that allows operation with or without its floating platform, thereby ensuring operational flexibility while maintaining its core wellness offerings.
