On Stage Theatre Museum ExhibitionOn Stage Theatre Museum ExhibitionOn Stage Theatre Museum Exhibition is an innovative permanent exhibition space designed to explore and showcase various aspects of theatre through an experiential approach that deliberately blurs the boundaries between spectating and acting. Conceived and executed by designer Skevi Farazi, this Bronze A' Design Award-winning exhibition masterfully unfolds in three distinct acts, mirroring the structure of a theatrical performance. The exhibition's narrative flow begins with 'The History,' a knowledge-filtering passage that provides historical context, continues through 'The Contributors,' which illuminates the often-unseen aspects of theatrical production, and culminates in 'The Performance,' revealing the final theatrical experience. The design employs sophisticated architectural elements, including a central diagonal showcase that strategically divides the space into three sections, creating a carefully orchestrated journey of discovery through alternating wide and narrow pathways. The exhibition's innovative approach to spatial design incorporates reflective surfaces at the entrance, creating an immersive play of knowledge through mirror reflections where spectator, graphics, and displays merge, dissolving conventional barriers of space and time. The design successfully addresses complex challenges, including the integration of diverse existing materials such as natural stone walls, timber roofing, and metal structures, while maintaining the necessary dark ambiance required for optimal display conditions. This permanent exhibition, winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in museum design, effectively balancing aesthetic considerations with functional requirements while creating an engaging narrative space that evolves gradually, much like a theatrical plot.
