III. Competition Brief
This is the information shared by the award participants regarding their entries.

For each category, we will help you create a category brief, creative text, and a sub logo, for the platform for an hourly rate as defined in this agreement. In addition, we should also list sub-categories or types of work that can be submitted for the category again for an hourly rate. In many cases, there will be only single category. |
III. Evaluation Methodology
This is how the entries in the competition are evaluated.

Who can join with what type of work. Eligibility conditions can limit participants from specific geography, education, age etc. We suggest not to limit participation except for entrants being of legal age.

Jury |

The competition jury should be preferably composed of representatives of Client institution as well as A' Design Awards in addition to academics, press members and other design professionals. |
Voting |

How will the entries be voted. The jury could vote online, or could meet together for evaluation. Voting online is cost effective and could actually reduce bias and avoids jury to be controlled. |

How winner is selected. We suggest:
1. Each entry is voted by jury members from 0 to 100. 2 Top participants with the highest score are awarded. - For this reason a percentage of winners or number of award winners shall be decided in advance. |
IV. Intellectual Properties
This section defines what happens to submitted work.

We suggest Designer keep their intellectual property rights, however designers grants rights to the Client to publish and promote their designs without any obligation imposed on Client.

V. Award Prize
This is what winners, honorable mentions, runner-ups or participants get.

Unique trophy is suggested for design competitions; if you use a crystal or existing trophy it shows you do not respect the entrants. We will design a trophy for you, but Client is reponsible for its production.

Certificate |

Award winner, runner-up, honorable mention, jury and exhibition certificates could be designed. We will design a winner certificate for you, but Client is reponsible for their production. |
Yearbook |

Yearbook of entries is a great way to honor winners. We suggest a digital or printed book with ISBN. We will be the publisher for you, but Client is reponsible for the production and costs. |
Press |

Press releases, press kit preparation and distribution regarding award participants, as well as pitching media regarding award winning work. |
Exhibition |

We suggest organization of an exhibition of all works that joined the competition and received good scores from the award jury. The exhibition posters are prepared by A' Design Award, but Client is responsible for exhibition setup, installation, space and printing etc. |
Gala |

We suggest organization of a gala-night with winner designers and runner-ups of the competition. The gala program is prepared by A' Design Award, but Client is responsible for its execution as well as space allocation etc. |
Logo |

A winner logo could be designed. "X Design Award Winner" to be given to award winning designers to incorporate to their marketing colleteral, CV or websites. |
VI. Award Timeline
Deadlines for entries, registrations, save the dates etc.

When the competition would start accepting entries. We need a bit of time to prepare the platform as well as design of deliverables and graphic language.

Call for Entries |

We suggest there would be 3 call for entries, first, second and last, with 3 months intervals to keep designers interested about the competition. |
Extension |

The deadline shall be extended for sure as a part of the design of the competition to ensure a significant number of additional entries to be submitted the last days. |
Judging |

Deadline for entries shall be the same date judging starts, at this day entries are locked and jury members start voting by evaluating entries. |
Results |

This date is when the results are public. Sometimes it is better to give designers a bit of time to update their presentations post competition. |
Deliverables |

These are the dates for gala-night, exhibition, yearbooks or any other items that were promised as a part of the award prize. It is better to indicate them in advance as designers would want to know them. |
VII. Award Terms
Terms and agreements of participating in the competition.

Clients' legal team is invited to join or review the terms and agreements that would be prepared by the A' Design Awards for Client. Client is reponsible to review and ensure that the participation terms reflect their interest.

VIII. Launching
These items related to the management or building of the competition.

Call for Submission Poster, Invitation for Joining, Website & Banners, Trade Magazine Ads are all created by A' Design Award and Competition with the predefined hourly rate.

Channel |

A' Design Award and Competition creates, configures and tests the participation channel for collection of entries. Client could review and check the prepared platform.

Staff |
________________________ |
A' Design Award and Competition will assign a staff to help the Client Staff. It is suggested that the Client has a dedicated Staff or responsible person for managing the platform.

Quality |
________________________ |
A' Design Award and Competition will register the competition to DesignCompetition.com and provide an assessment of the quality score of the competition and suggest improvements.

Launch |
________________________ |
Advertisement and kick-start is taken care by the Client or A' Design Award based on the competition budget. A' Design Award and Competition will provide a press-release for the competition.

IX. Management
Ongoing support to participants.

Dedicated or shared staff to be assigned to the project from both sides for providing technical and FAQ based support for participants. A' Design Award suggest creation of a FAQ page so that each question is answered once only. |
X. Maintainance
Continuity of the Competition

Evaluating Results and Goals Achievement. Client and A' Design Award meets and discusses how to improve the competition for next year, what was the greatest value etc. |

Client will keep the competition and the communication alive. It is suggested the competition website to be kept alive for at least 5 years after completion. |
XI. Indemnity
This section covers the indemnity by the A' Design Awards. Warranties and liabilities are none to the extend permitted by law.
XII. Costs
Depending on the overall structure. Hourly rate is also set here, and hourly rate items cost could be included as a part of a proposal for example.
