The "glowing seed" is an armchair that has an analogy of a seed due to it's physical size and appearance. It is crafted with a combination of traditional wooden panels with acrylic panels as a contrast. Together between the two materials, the armchair is able to demonstrate the complexity of material integration. In addition, it is embedded with LED lighting where the user can enjoy multiple spectrum of illuminations whenever he/she desires. It is an intervention that is capable in changing the surrounding ambience and one's spatial experience.

Paul is an Australian Architect who was born in Hong Kong and raised in Melbourne Australia. It is because of his exposure to both Asian and Australian culture that led to his discovery in design and architecture. He was trained in both Melbourne and Tokyo for his architectural education and professional experience, and these experiences have grown deeply into his design root. Aiming to combine his design philosophy and experience together into one, Atelier PM has become the platform for Paul's to contribute his skills to the society one design at a time.

Atelier PM
Atelier PM is a collaborative platform founded by Australian Architect Paul Mak in 2016. The works cover from small scale furniture design to large scale architectural design throughout East Asia. Paul has been practicing architecture in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Melbourne and has won a number of prices, including the special winner award from the Achi-World academy first edition 2014 for his master thesis and finalist entry price for Hong Kong design competition in 2015.
