The initial opening of the hotel and apartment was in 2011 aiming to become a hub for art and culture of Kyoto. 2016 was its renewal opening year with 67 new guest rooms and more presence of art by collaborating with artists in creating conceptual rooms and adding a production studio for an artist-in-residence program. The hotel theme is Art Fair 365 Days A Year. All art pieces in the hotel are for sale, attracting various kinds of visitors from all over the world.
