As one of the leading web browser companies, google needed to grow in the building they were. The design concept is really simple…the city of Mexico. When you enter the reception you find this really white space, with a bright colored logo, that lets you in into two different spaces. One, the techtalk, a big auditorium for multiple uses. Here the focus of design is the Mexico city google map carpet, which captures you eye the moment you step in. The other door let you into Mexico city. First you see Chapultepec, an informal meeting space with swings, a lake and a very big tree. Then you see that thecarpet is actually a street that takes you everywhere. You can take an actual refurbished cab and have a phone conversation, or you can take the subway, that holds all the technical rooms in the office. You can continue your journey either south, and find workstations and Xochimilco, where you can have a videoconference inside a Trajinera, whichis a traditional Mexican boat; oryou can go north, and enter Teatro Blanquita, a big meeting space where Google Hangouts happen. Food and catering is really important for the company to give to their employees, so you can find a deli in the middle of the space where you can either eat or meet. There are also several amenities such as gym, showers and massage areas to keep the employees happy. Color and lighting design worked together to really enhanced the look, the productivity and the result. Designed to have little impact in the environment, this offices follow really estrict green guidelines such as low VOC´s materials, green carpeting, certified wood, and recycle bins. This offices got LEED Gold Certified. Google works totally different as the majority of companies, and because this is a young company with most employees being gen-Xers we decided to give a fun yet functional ambiance, or as they call it “frugal space”.

Not long ago we opened SPACE with the intention of working with corporations which think that space makes a difference. Our passion has always been design and architecture. We structure a new way of seeing architecture and we develop methodologies inline with this vision. With an interest in being the best if not the biggest, we surround ourselves with an interdisciplinary team of highly talented professionals. We take into account the importance of research and technology and we include both in our method of thinking and working, always seeking SUSTAINABLE solutions which not only RESPECT the environment but which help to improve our surroundings. We are convinced that ideas move quicker when you think of people-technology-space at the same time. In this way we begin to put intelligent people with intelligent technologies into intelligent spaces. We have created various lines of business, CORPORATE ARCHITECTURE both interior and exterior, COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE, points of sale, shopping malls and RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE, among others. Whether it be a small space, a large building, a campus, offices, shops or a development of habitations, we know that to achieve a great solution you have to begin from inside, this is the basis of our philosophy; designing from inside out. We have also generated a methodology which we call the Green Scale. In which all, absolutely all projects have the potential to be green to some degree. The project’s and/or the client’s level of commitment is defined as part of the methodology. The Green Scale consists of three levels: LIGHT GREEN: seeks energy savings and rational use of resources MEDIUM GREEN: in addition to what is done in light green; the project is carried out with eco specifications and technology investments to increase energy savings are analysed. DARK GREEN: this level of commitment implies carrying out projects with LEED certification and applies to clients and/or projects with a high level of ecological awareness and commitment. For a few this is our history, for us it is the legacy of SPACE. Juan Carlos Baumgartner Founder partner

Google is an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include search, cloud computing, software, and online advertising technologies. Its mission statement from the outset was "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful". It offers online productivity software including email (Gmail), an office suite (Google Drive), and social networking (Google+). Desktop products include applications for web browsing, organizing and editing photos, and instant messaging. Since the beginning, they’ve focused on providing the best user experience possible. The world is increasingly mobile: people want access to information wherever they are, whenever they need it. They’re pioneering new technologies and offering new solutions for mobile services that help people all over the globe to do any number of tasks on their phone, from checking email and calendar events to watching videos, not to mention the several different ways to access Google search on a phone. Their founders built Google around the idea that work should be challenging, and the challenge should be fun. They believe that great, creative things are more likely to happen with the right company culture–and that doesn’t just mean lava lamps and rubber balls. There is an emphasis on team achievements and pride in individual accomplishments that contribute to their overall success. They put great stock in our employees–energetic, passionate people from diverse backgrounds with creative approaches to work, play and live. Their atmosphere may be casual, but as new ideas emerge in a café line, at a team meeting or at the gym, they are traded, tested and put into practice with dizzying speed–and they may be the launch pad for a new project destined for worldwide use.
