The search for a complexity synthesized in a few lines was the main inspiration for Max Chair. With clean design and precise lines, this piece is a response to a structural challenge with a combination of materials. The light and slender fiberglass shell rests over four metallic support joints, while locked at the base (with axes that cross each other in an X shape), with Sucupira wood covering the feet. Its seat and backrest are part of the same volume, covered in natural Solana leather, with many studies on ergonomy to find a proper curvature and compact visuals.

From the object to the landscape, inside out, the creative process of studio arthur casas is intimately connected to a horizontal scale, where the main concern is the dialogue in the conception of programs that can be as diverse as a chair or an entire neighborhood, influenced by a spirit both modernist and contemporary that is brazilian but also cosmopolitan. Since 1999, the team of designers, architects and urbanists works from são paulo and ny, and has built in several cities worldwide such as tokyo, paris, rio de janeiro, ny and são paulo, creating a vocabulary that is recognized and published internationally.

Focused on contemporary furniture manufacturing and trading, +55 design works with genuinely Brazilian raw materials and professionals, consolidating itself as one of the most important design brands in the country. The selected team of professionals responsible for the products of +55design includes internationally established names and promising talents, with great potential to emerge on the market. Sustainability is intrinsic to the brand. In the products, the woods are certified with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) social environmental responsible label, which guarantees high productivity in balance with nature; the fabrics are natural and organic or composed by recycled elements; the leathers come from traced farms outside the perimeter of the Amazon; and plastic was completely banned from products and processes, being replaced by bioplastic – biodegradable element absorbed by nature in up to a year and a half. In addition to the attention to sustainable criteria, the brand works with social projects aimed at the creative economy, having won the seal Origens Brasil® by promoting business in the Amazon with guaranteed origin, transparency and traceability of the product chain.
