Latitude Light is an indoor/outdoor solar-powered light that is 3D printed in strong flexible plastic. The light’s geometry is updated in a digital file so that the tilt of the photovoltaic panel changes according to its destined location. In this way, Latitude Light’s capacity for electric power generation is optimized for different latitudes. Its translucent surfaces, only 1mm thick, glow warmly from an LED bulb placed at its center. The light needs to bathe in daylight and illuminates automatically at dusk, glowing gradually brighter until fall of darkness. 4.4"w, 5.2"d, 5.8"h

Nina Edwards Anker
Established in 2006 by Nina Edwards Anker, NEA Studio focuses its work in architecture, furniture/product design, and landscape planning. Edwards Anker’s contemporary design works have been widely published and exhibited. The office has broken ground with a LEED certified residence in Long Island, to be completed by 2018. The designer's Landscape Sofa won the 2015 Good Design Award Chicago Atheneum Museum of Architecture and Design. She received her PhD in Architecture in 2016, and teaches environmental architecture and design at NYU Gallatin. NEA Studio continues to design, develop and exhibit solar lights and furniture while practicing architecture. With a focus on sustainable design, the practice operates in an environment in which project management and implementation takes place in parallel with model making, prototyping and experimentation with ideas, materials, and manufacturing processes. The office maintains a cross-disciplinary nature where research and sharing ideas is an essential part of work philosophy.
