Segway-Ninebot is a smart mobility company focusing on creative short-distance transportation and robots. It owns two prominent brands, Ninebot and Segway. Segway-Ninebot was established in 2012. In October of 2014, Ninebot received an investment totaling 80 million dollars from Xiaomi, Sequoia Capital and Shunwei. In March of 2015, Ninebot acquired Segway to form a global enterprise; In the same year, it completed the Series-B financing of 60 million dollars from Intel and GIC. In October of 2017, Segway-Ninebot completed the Series-C financing from a fund managed by SDIC and China Mobile Fund. On October 29th, 2020, Segway-Ninebot successfully went public on STAR Market of Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock name: Ninebot Limited, Stock code: 689009) and became China's first public company in the structure of VIE and CDR. As a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales and service, Segway-Ninebot has applied more than 4800 global intellectual property which have been put into use in multiple areas including innovative mobility, robotics and entertainment.
