This is a single-family residence design based on a site in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The goal was to design a sustainable living space in one of the most populated, polluted, and busiest cities in the world. Because of rapid urbanization and overpopulation, Dhaka has very little green space left. To make the residence self-sustainable, spaces from the rural area like the courtyard, semi-outdoor space, pond, deck, etc are introduced. There is a green terrace with every function which will act as an outdoor interaction space and protect the building from pollutions.

"Nahian Bin Mahbub is an architecture student from Chittagong, Bangladesh. He is pursuing his Bachelor's degree in architecture and is deeply interested in sustainable design and urban planning. He has experience designing spaces and a strong background in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Rhino. Nahian is also involved in voluntary and social work for many non-profit organizations. He is currently working with Simple Action For the Environment (SAFE BANGLADESH) and is managing an online shop for architecture students on his campus. He speaks English and Bengali fluently."
