The morphology of the Hotel Villa Madonna extension was determined by the purpose of identifying meaningful relationships with the natural context. This approach has allowed the adoption of an architecture that, while strongly differentiating stylistically and linguistically, manages to converse harmoniously with the more traditional character of the building to which it is juxtaposed. The intervention relates to the existing building by interpreting the basic compositional role using only technical materials that would, however, resume the logic of tradition in mountain buildings.

Joseph di Pasquale è un architetto, docente universitario, dottore di ricerca in architettura, progettista e urbanista con esperienza e riconoscimenti internazionali. È professore a contratto presso la Facoltà di Architettura del Politecnico di Milano e possiede un Phd in Architettura modulare ibrida per alloggi emergenti. Dal 2008 svolge un’intensa attività di divulgazione culturale con conferenze in Italia, Cina, Russia e Stati Uniti, oltre a pubblicare libri e articoli su molte riviste internazionali e pubblicazione accademiche. È fondatore dello studio Joseph di Pasquale Architects, studio di architetti, designer, web master, e videomaker operanti nel settore della ricerca sui nuovi comportamenti di fruizione dell’architettura.
