About Yicheng Ren : Yicheng Ren is an interior and architectural designer with a background in residential design, adaptive reuse, and narrative-based spatial strategies. Born in Shanghai, she studied interior design at the University of Edinburgh, earning a Bachelor of Arts, and later completed a Master of Design in Interior Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design with a concentration in Adaptive Reuse and Narrative Environments.

Her practice centers on the study of reuse, spatial narratives, and site-specific context. Her work draws on research methods and engages with the concept of architectural palimpsest, integrating material exploration, proportional studies, and considerations of genius loci within design processes.

Ren’s professional experience includes contributions to more than ten residential projects in New York during her tenure at Space 4 Architecture, where she participated in all phases of both ground-up and renovation projects. At HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates, she worked on FF&E design for real estate developments in multiple regions across China.

Her work has received recognition through awards such as the Houzee Awards and the Architecture & Design Collection Awards, as well as honors from the Muse Design Awards, New York Architectural Design Awards, and London Design Awards. Her project “Tre-Atriums” was published in TerraViva Chronicles No. 1 in 2024, and “Crossing The Pell” was exhibited at the Venice Biennale’s Time Space Existence exhibition at Palazzo Mora in 2025.
