I've travelled extensively and I care deeply for the arts and contribute much to theatre, music and arts societies. I like to believe that in my own small way, the work I do makes someone elses life a bit brighter and happier be it an engagement, an anniversary or whatever. There's nothing better than to recieve a hug from a client who's genuinely pleased and emotional about what you've made for them. Everything I create has a piece of myself within and has a story to tell and to be added to as it continues it's journey.
I am moved not so much as what or how a design looks but more by how it makes me feel. Art can be a very emotional journey for me, it captures a moment in time that may never or want to be repeated. I see shapes first then colour, how they contrast, how best they fit together and how a piece can be spontaneous (rare for me) or evolve. There was a time when I sketched out all of my designs but inevitably, as they moved from paper to the bench all would change, many times in a completely different direction. I've learned to let the materials and my emotion talk.

1982 began goldmithing, primarily self taught
1984 became a Fellow of the Canadian Gemological Association
1987 compleated GIA Coloured Stone Grading
1994 compleated GIA Diamond Grading
EXPERIENCE:
Began training as a watchmaker under my father's tutelage in 1978 and switched to goldsmithing in 1982. My Father retired in 1994 after I bought him out. The shop began in 1960 and we now celebrate our 58th year.
AWARDS:
1989, won the Canadian "DeBeers Diamond Today" award.
Aprroximately 1996 placed 2nd in "Excellence In Design" award with the Canadian Jewellers Magazine.
