He is a creative architect who believes in designing solutions for long term and likes to explore various architectural vocabularies.
He is working on a variety of projects and exploring ideas for well designed built environment which can contribute towards betterment of humanity.
Over the years his firm has won many national and international awards.
He has delivered talks at various forums across India, South East Asia , middle east and Africa.
If Architecture is the body of a design, Art is the soul of it.
For me Architecture is a piece of Art made for people to occupy. It definitely has a lot of technology and practicality to it. However, being an Indian and considering the size of our population, I firmly believe that our role today must focus on the needs of the common man rather than favouring the elite clan’s limitless desire. It simply means targeting a large volume and looking at maximising profits and hence this is not a socialist view but simply makes more business sense as an architect and what the world needs. Nevertheless, that’s also the need of the hour.
I am passionate about following my roots based around the wisdom of traditional architecture and developing it into a modern design. Amidst various creative challenges, finding contextual and sustainable solutions considering the user’s complete experience is vital to me. I truly believe that a well designed building lasts longer than the designer himself.
As a nation we are blessed with talented, reasonably priced artisans and craftsmen. Their intricate work keeps the country’s culture and heritage relevant in today’s fast growing digital age.This also inspires me to look at customization & innovation as oppose to imitating the culture of standardisation of developed countries.
