Interview with Wei Chi Chen at Sunday 26th of May 2019 ![]() FS: Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator? WCC: Since childhood, I have had the characteristics of this detail. With the increase of age, this trait has pushed me to the designer. On the one hand, I have accumulated relevant experience through work-study and half-reading in college, and on the other hand, I am interested. Let me promote the development of a sensitive tax on "beauty"!! FS: What are your priorities, technique and style when designing? WCC: The first aspect must be based on the user's priority, because the interior design is a tailor-made industry that meets the user's ability to solve the problem! The second aspect is to establish the user's habits and processes, and then through 3D assistance. Complete communication with the owner to avoid errors! FS: Which emotions do you feel when designing? WCC: I think it is in the stage of designing and thinking, because it can be arrogant!! Through the professional method to implement the original intention of design, after completion, I think that every designer is the happiest time, the feeling that the space under his pen is being implemented is impossible. Words! FS: What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer? WCC: I think that for the non-design skills that designers should have, they must have a "heart of the heart" and keep a fresh sense of anything, constantly discovering different viewpoints and angles from the past. FS: What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project? WCC: The road to growth is as explained in the previous paragraph. I think I will continue to study and break through the details!! I want to build my own home from scratch!! FS: What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career? WCC: Don't design for design~ Always remember that design is the way to solve problems and continue to have a passion for design! FS: You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects? WCC: To maintain a keen sense of "beauty" FS: What is your day to day look like? WCC: Keeping yourself passionate and working hard to find the fun of life outside of work, this is the source of design FS: How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter? WCC: In fact, design and popularity are closely related. I think that design can be divided into two categories: classic and popular. Of course, in terms of commercial space, it is necessary to meet the trend, but for living space, I think the classic is indispensable! Because no one will want to re-decorate after the retreat FS: How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design? WCC: Solving the problem is good design FS: How do you decide if your design is ready? WCC: Being able to meet the expectations of the owner and solve the problem is a complete design FS: What is your biggest design work? WCC: Be sure to analyze the direction and expectations of the owner, and vote for it!! Using self-experience and professionalism to solve the owner's problem is a good design case! Instead of blindly treating the design as a stage for self-discipline, deviation Original intention FS: Who is your favourite designer? WCC: Tadao Ando has always been my spiritual teacher. FS: Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture? WCC: Culture is a very important foundation for supporting design. The design with cultural meaning can highlight the value and value of design. FS: Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy? WCC: I don't think any design is easy and simple. You have to have a lot of experience and put a lot of energy and time to reach your own requirements. It is more difficult to find a working partner that is close to your own philosophy, so you must More cherish the partners around you and communicate with your heart to have a good working environment FS: What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect? WCC: I would like to invest in unpaid design work, especially for students who are still in the learning stage. I want to use my experience to help them understand more quickly and accurately whether they are suitable for this industry and how much effort they need to invest in. Such a prominent performance FS: What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award? WCC: I believe that A' DESIGN is a way for designers to be sure of their best, and that allowing owners to understand their case is perfect and outstanding, and also gives potential customers more confidence.
