Interview with Fabrizio Guarrasi at Monday 19th of March 2018 FS: Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator? FG: I have worked in different design's fields. I started as graphic designer in London, then I worked as consultant designer, after a little experience in UX/UI design I definitively become a furniture designer. FS: How did you become a designer? FG: I born as designer. When I was child I loved objects, I believed that each objects had a soul, a deep sould that interact with me, and me with it. I have been always inquiring about all: nature, human beings and especially how objects are made. FS: What are your priorities, technique and style when designing? FG: My priority is the user: what he wants, what he need, what I feels. These are all aspects that each designer should concern. FS: Which emotions do you feel when designing? FG: I feel really well, I create and shape my destiny and I believe that this is awesome, I love it. FS: What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer? FG: Obviously the will to exceed always my expectations. This has played a big role in my life, and especially in my designer's life. FS: What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project? FG: My growth path can been related with the story of my life. My origin, my family and my values has been very important for my education and for the man that I am and that I will be. FS: What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career? FG: Be curious, be honest, be positive. Care about planet and human beings. FS: You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects? FG: To pursue always your dream. As designer and especially as human, believe always in your dream, and they will come true. Just will it. FS: What is your day to day look like? FG: Wow, these is a difficult question for me. Fortunately, I do not have a routine day, and I love it. I hate the uniformity. FS: How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter? FG: Social networks are really important for this topic. I use it to be update for the last design trends and for spread my job's network. FS: How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design? FG: Good Design is quite hard to acive. Not so much designer are able to produce "good design". But generally a project for be considered good design must be Innovative, aesthetically attractive, honest, reliable and, most important thing, environment's respectfull FS: How do you decide if your design is ready? FG: Design's process never end. Time is our enemy, when we do not have more time, means that our project is ready. FS: What is your biggest design work? FG: My biggest design work is my life. I am working on it, stay tuned. FS: Who is your favourite designer? FG: Formafantasma's research is awesome. FS: Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture? FG: I am deeply passionate for design's world and human beings. Attention to details, excessive precision and my will to exceed always my expectations are all aspects that distinguish myself. I strongly believe in the idea that “we are not born, but we grow up and become someone”.
