Interview with Changheon Lee at Monday 9th of April 2018 FS: Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator? CL: I majored in architecture and worked on designing for three years. Architectural design experience has given me a lot of curiosity and interest. FS: How did you become a designer? CL: The reason why I came to design is because I am very interested in life and art. I wish my design would enrich people's lives. FS: What are your priorities, technique and style when designing? CL: What I consider most important in designing is organizing my thoughts. The better you organize your thoughts, the better the design results will be. So I draw a lot of articles and pictures before I design. FS: Which emotions do you feel when designing? CL: When I design, I get immersed in it. FS: What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer? CL: I think my habit of learning about myself through writing and writing helped me grow into a designer. FS: What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project? CL: My dream is to create a design studio that encompasses architecture, interior design, furniture, and visual design. FS: What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career? CL: Try to know yourself. This is a great help to design. FS: You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects? CL: Try to know yourself! FS: What is your day to day look like? CL: I do my personal work after work. It's hard but fun. FS: How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter? CL: Design trends are important. But before that, I think it's more important to have a strong sense of direction. FS: How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design? CL: Design that gives people a good impression is a good design. FS: How do you decide if your design is ready? CL: Before you design, you must have a good understanding of what you are designing for. If you understood it well, you are ready for it. FS: What is your biggest design work? CL: My most valuable design tasks are a 'baan table' and a 'muul light'. It's my first work and it's been recognized through contests. FS: Who is your favourite designer? CL: Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Cha Ungi FS: Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture? CL: Music is an important factor in my design. The music I listen to at work has a great effect on me. FS: Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy? CL: Communication is very important to me. Communication with customers and with partners is critical. FS: What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect? CL: It's the designer's job to help people's lives and society develop in a better way, and I think this is a benefit to society. FS: What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award? CL: It was my first competition, and it was the first time my design was recognized. It was a very valuable experience.
