Interview with Chenchi Lin at Saturday 17th of March 2018 FS: Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator? CL: I have been a designer for 18years, and stared my own company with my partner for 6 years. I studied interior design in college, and architecture design in graduate school. After that, I worked in this field all the time, and in many big, famous firm. So, I am a experienced designer. Since I worked for my own company, we have won the Asia design award in China, Japan commercial design award, and other many awards in Asia. This time we won the ADesign award, too. FS: How did you become a designer? CL: I alway wanted to be a designer since I was 11 years old. When I was kid, I liked the beautiful houses, fabulous interior designs,...etc. So, I chose interior design for college, and architecture design for graduate school. The idea was to learn from inside to outside of the architectures, and from detail to big scope. I loved “the New York five” when I studied in college, and I loved the contemporary architecture since then till now. FS: What are your priorities, technique and style when designing? CL: For my point of view, for the present day, we should think beyond the techniques and styles. For the past centuries, we designed and consumed...right now the earth is sick because we keep consuming. So, we need to think about synbiosis more. To live with environment, to live with earth. Depends on that, we consider about our demands, and we figure out the techniques, styles...that’s the approach of our company so far.
