FS: What is "design" for you?
NA: Friends and work.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
NA: Full of artistic and cultural connotations.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
NA: Book design.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
NA: Academic Poste.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
NA: I like natural materials full of charm, such as paper, stone and wood.

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
NA: When my ideas resonate with others.

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
NA: It's very complicated. As someone said, the process is like first love.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
NA: Every design is like a child. When the design is finished, the most emotion is love and pride.

FS: What makes a design successful?
NA: The success of design lies in its positive and effective.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
NA: Availability and sustainability.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
NA: Designers must take positive responsibility for human harmony and social development.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
NA: My inspiration comes from real life. Participating in competitions, exhibitions, learning from different perspectives and communicating with designers are all my inspiration sources.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
NA: I live in China. I think Chinese civilization has a profound impact on my design. I love traditional culture.

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
NA: Communicate with clients, collect materials, seek inspiration, create for the first time, communicate and modify, adjust again, communicate and modify, confirm finally and materialize.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
NA: Try to do what you like.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
NA: As a designer, the advantage is to be able to touch a very wide range of fields, but the disadvantage is the lack of boundaries between work and life.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
NA: The visibility and readability of visual symbols are the most important.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
NA: Communicate.

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
NA: This needs to be based on the characteristics of the project and user needs.

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
NA: Customer needs.

FS: What was your most important job experience?
NA: Book design. I think that from the planning, layout, printing, binding, technology and communication to learn the importance of details and integration.

FS: Who are some of your clients?
NA: Artists, teachers and related businesses.

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
NA: I really enjoy studying some artistic creations in the field of history and culture.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
NA: I want to do a series of graphic and visual design in history and culture.

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
NA: I have my own team, but usually I prefer to work independently. If it is necessary to create a project, I will coordinate with the team to complete it together.

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
NA: This year, we will have two major themes: Fight against COVID-19 and Food conservation. Both themes are nonprofit creations aimed at global public health and interlocking food problems. Designers should take more public responsibility.
