Interview with Liz Sabol at Thursday 21st of April 2016 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? LS: I became a designer because I love to create beautiful things. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? LS: I like new challenges. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? LS: I have several favorite materials - metal, stone (gems and minerals), and glass. FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? LS: I find that I am most creative when I am learning about something new - it opens new pathways. So I like to explore new techniques and materials. FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? LS: Depends on the object or project. Sometimes the design seems to come effortlessly, but other times it's a slow process of multiple iterations that can go on for days. FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why? LS: My favorite design work is in following what ever inspiration is currently occupying my thoughts. FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? LS: I am hoping to be able to move my focus from corporate graphics to pursuing my jewelry design full-time. FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself? LS: I work on my own.
