| DESIGN NAME: Sound Wave Poster PRIMARY FUNCTION: Poster INSPIRATION: Misunderstanding is an unseen barrier in people’s mind. The influx of refugees from the Middle East into Europe, many social problems emerge, resulting in ethnic conflicts. Barriers to Middle East refugees are being formed. This poster engages the audience’s action from watching to listening, then thinking, and finally getting comprehension. With comprehension, people are more likely to break through the barriers in their heart, achieving mutual understanding and reconciliation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This poster is not only be seen, but also be heard. The barbed wire symbolizes the cold barriers between different nations due to the lack of comprehension. On this poster, the knots on the barbed wires are replaced by the sonic waves in different languages. The audiences can use the mobile APP to scan the waves, then they will hear the word ''Comprehe OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When people watch posters and scan the sonic waves on poster through mobile phones, they can hear the voice of the word"Comprehens PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2017 and finished in December 2017 in Australia. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The voices of different people are recorded, and edited in Adobe Audition. Then Adobe Photoshop and illustrator edited the sonic patterns. When the audiences watch, they scan the sonic graph on the poster with an acoustic scan app and listen to "Comprehension& SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 594 mm x Height 841 mm TAGS: Sound Wave Poster, graphic design, Behaviour design，comprehensi RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research covers the world's main language pronunciation "Comprehension. CHALLENGE: 1. Gathering the voice with the pronunciation of Comprehension in different languages is a tough process. 2. Combination of sonic shapes and barbed wire is challenging. NAME: Hong Pang PROFILE: Design is all about storytelling, and as a designer, I reckon I have the responsibility to tell the wonderful stories. I make effort to offer the joyful visual effect, apply the techniques, and enlighten even more creative thought from the audience, making the world a better place. I graduated from University of Sydney in 2007 with a master degree (with Honours), and I've been developing my career in design area for over 10 years. I like calligraphy, graphic, sound, movies, and animations. I deeply believe each of these or the combinations can be the very sharp tool to help us tell the story. Now as a senior in-house designer for a large manufacturer company, I manage to keep my eye on both the project target and the little things that matter, I believe "Small is the new big". And for often, it's not the biggest ideas that have the most impact, but the small, the personal, and the intimate. |
