| DESIGN NAME: Gravity PRIMARY FUNCTION: Swing sofa INSPIRATION: Gravity is inspired by gravity, nature shapes and water waves. It aims to create an intimate but open space where to enjoy the nature and to be swing by the garden breeze. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Gravity designed by Technical Emotions, is a swing-sofa for outdoor furnishing, garden and patio. It is a round sofa with lots of colourful pillows, which textures play graphically with harmonic nuance. A place where being swing hanging from its supporting structure, or hanging on a sturdy beam, or in support of earth, as cozy sofa, where you can read a book,chat with friends or simply relax. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The user can seat or lie down on it and swing, having a relaxing time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Started in June 2014 in Venice and finished in March 2015 in Treviso, and was for the first time exhibited in Salone del Mobile Milano in April 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Gravity is produced using the best materials for outdoor use. Its structure is made of powder coated stainless steel coloured Champagne. The very special powder coating is done with the best products available worldwide, being warranty for a long life in the difficult outdoor environment. The interweaving of lateral and suspension ropes is made of polyester nautical, colour Sand. The cushions have a special combination of outdoor foams and outdoor suitable fabrics. The outdoor foam is protected with a polyester cover to make it water repellent. In this way the foam will last in perfect condition for long time. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 1330mm x 1330mm x Height 2380mm Height Seat 600mm TAGS: Scenographic furniture, relaxing, sharing, light, cozy, rocking and nature. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Working closely with Roberti Rattan srl, has been the key to a successful project, starting from the presentation of the first ideas to enjoying the journey to the final result. The design has been approached from various points of view, technical, formal and emotional. The design team developed a brief of objectives based on a previous detailed analysis of the requirements of the project, responding to the dreams of the customer. The client asked for designing a scenographic relaxing and romantic furniture element inspired by nature, so it was easy to let imagination fly and swing till the final result. CHALLENGE: The main creative challenge was to realize a very solid structure that appears light and float. NAME: Roberti Rattan srl PROFILE: The Company was founded in 1959 by Renato Roberti who started a handicraft production of high quality rattan and wicker furniture for indoor and outdoor, patio, terrace and conservatory. The concept of a furniture range for the in-outdoor area was already part of the Roberti's vision since the beginning. Roberti celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2014. More than fifty years have been commited to the task, studying, testing and developing new collections different each other, but all joined together by the same creativity. The key to success is simple and complex at the same time: tradition memories and an expert knowledge of materials and production process, a great enthusiasm and curiosity for new concepts and a deep passion for design and elegance. Thousands of original models, with a contemporary design and a skilfull processing have been created in the long period till end of '90ties. The cooperation with famous Designers gave rise to many successful models leading the Company to achieve a high reputation worldwide.
