Glossy lacquer coffee/side tables offer a sleek and sophisticated accompaniment to the Tendresse leather sectional sofa. Dining room is complete with the "Water Drop" sideboard, Patricia Urquiola's "Diamond" Dining table and Philippe Starck's "Caadre" Mirror.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 2,841 square foot condo in Toronto's Yorkville area.
TAGS: Organic, colour, vibrant, modern
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In order to animate the neutral modern furniture pieces that were first introduced into the design, bold colour was injected through the use of artwork, handwoven rugs and other accessories. All of the above mentioned components were sourced mainly in the Toronto area and later brought in from Europe. Since the client resides in their home in Brazil, communication with them over confirmation of pieces was conducted either over email or in person over their short visits to Canada.
CHALLENGE: The condominium prior to the renovation project was finished in a very traditional style. Since the client was attracted to modern design, the traditional space had to be reinvented in a modern way to suit the tastes of the client.
