Creating this building was a great opportunity to unleash your imagination in unusual direction.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Quantum is a Museum and Exhibition Center, a building designed to host the forefront in Product Design as well as all important and iconic works created over the years.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The main purpose of this building is to host temporary or permanent exhibitions.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started 9 months ago. Creation and development took place in Bulgaria.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The structure will be made of steel and concrete. External shell - fractal pattern aluminium alloy or other light material with polymer structure. Using the new technology it could be even 3D printed. Glass panels on both sides.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Quantum is a 3 floor building with two asymmetric corpora and tunnels which connect both parts.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The style is probably Organic-Eclectic, shape can be geometrically described as a combination of overlapping spheres, displaced relatively one to another, forming two asymmetrical corpora with different internal areas and balconies.The connection between them is accomplished by 5 corridors in the form of mini-deformed protuberances. Spiritually it can have many descriptions but the primary idea was to represent the connection and at the same time the difference between past and future in the product design.
CHALLENGE:
The whole project was a big challenge. As interesting is an exhibition, namely the building is one that attracts and by its shape you can guess what can be expected inside.

I'm in awe of this work. It has all the essential elements of a great design - an innovative concept, exceptional detail, and a beautiful aesthetic. The architecture is unique, yet timeless. It looks like it could have come from any era, yet has the modern flair of a structure from today's world. I'm sure it took a lot of work to create something this beautiful and functional, and I'm really impressed by its success. Congratulations to Vasil Velchev for winning the A' Design Award with their work "Quantum".
