DESIGN NAME: AGRICULTURAL VEHICLE IN INDIA - BEEHIVE
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Agricultural vehicle
INSPIRATION: In India, there are some problems below. 1. severe road condition 2. hot climate 3. exceeding passenger capacity 4. oversized cargo 5. inconsistent power supply.
For design language, Beehive is inspired by elephant' ride and kid's wagon for better navigations.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This "new concept" of agricultural vehicle in India is a dual module engine vehicle using OPOC engine by EcoMotors. Beehive is inspired by elephant rides and kid's wagon for intuitive navigation. It carries more than 10 passengers and has plenty of cargo spaces. When the loads are bulky but light, the forward module can provide all of the necessary power. But when the load is heavy, a second power unit can be added to the rear axle. Beehive can be used as a walk-behind two wheeled tiller with multi-purpose agricultural attachment. Also, it can be used as an electric source power generator.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Researched on finding problems in India.
Studied OPOC engine.
The company’s OPOC (opposed piston, opposed cylinder) engine is essentially a horizontally opposed engine with one big difference. Within each of its cylinders, there are two pistons traveling in opposite directions. The resulting engine is very low top to bottom, very short front to rear, and fairly wide. In either two- or four cylinder form, it’s a completely different shape than any other engine out there.
CHALLENGE: Multi-purpose use of OPOC engine
