| DESIGN NAME: iBaby PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home ultrasound device using iPhone INSPIRATION: What pregnant women want to know about their baby is baby's health, baby's emotion, baby's heartbeat and pregnancy date. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: iBaby aims to enhance the pregnancy experience directly from your phone. Connected to the iPhone, the device can capture ultrasound images of an unborn baby to look at baby's emotion and listen baby's heartbeat. Also it allows rapid sharing with doctors for check-up and family members and friends for joy within seconds over wifi or its built in printer. On top of all that, the device also doubles as a baby monitor after the little one comes home! Addition of iPhone lowers costs of production because the brain of this device is the iPhone. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Connected to the iPhone and operate the device. You can hear baby's heart while you seeing your unborn child. Once an ultrasound image has been obtained, there are some additional options. 1. You can print out the photos. 2. You can send images to your family or friends with your iPhone. 3. You can send images to the doctor for check-ups. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is a school project which is started in Jan 2010.
