| DESIGN NAME: Children's Dreams PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: Due to the severe outbreak of epidemic in 2020, learning online replaces face to face in the classroom. The reason the house owner decided to change the bigger house is making a better learning environment for her three lovely children. So as us, We regard children’s education as the most important things in this house. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The lighting conditions of the house, the elegant lines of moldings, the light-toned wooden flooring and the soft grey-toned paint render a space expressing a warm and refreshing quality of life. The space is planned to include an exclusive playroom and a huge book wall. A perforated board wall replaces the traditional TV wall design, providing the flexibility to the layout of furnishings at any time, and adding a sense of fun and comfort to daily life. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Regarding the dining and kitchen area centered around a long dining table, a hut-shaped reading corner and a swing are created on its one side, and a peninsula bar counter is placed for the female homeowner who enjoys baking with the children. With the spacious and refreshing sense, the children have a sufficient environment for activities, where they can read and swing, and the female homeowner can take care of them while cooking, to form a space for interaction and emotional bonding. Also, the meaning of home life is redefined with small but definite happiness. For the private areas, colors are used to switch out the character of the occupants. The master bedroom is outlined with elegance and covered in gentle light green, bringing out the romantic and tender side of the female homeowner. On the other hand, the daughter's room is decorated in pale pink and white colors to match the girl's delicate and sweet style, while the twin boys' room is decorated in vibrant yellow and grey, bringing out the expression of childlike space. As for the bathroom, the design is subtle with the deep texture. A total of 11 types of tiles are used in the master bedroom and the guest bathroom, forming two different atmospheres, and presenting subtle and rich visual effects. Further, with the river view and bright lighting outside the windows, the homeowner can simply enjoy the comfortable bath at such delightful moments. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main theme of the overall design is about the children. The lighting conditions of the house, the elegant lines of moldings, the light-toned wooden flooring and the soft grey-toned paint render a space expressing a warm and refreshing quality of life. The space is planned to include an exclusive playroom and a huge book wall. A perforated board wall replaces the traditional TV wall design, providing the flexibility to the layout of furnishings at any time, and adding a sense of fun and comfort to daily life. A bright, fresh space for the young children to explore is thus created. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 200 square meters TAGS: Children, Play Room, Reading Corner, Swing, American Moldings, Metal Sliding Doors, Wooden Louvers RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design space has been reconsidered, returning to needs of space users and thinking changes of the times to find the most appropriate design elements. In post-epidemic era, we created the space which children can learning, playing and safety. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge is revising the plan of the house, we remove a bathroom into a children paly room which includes reading and relax function. The design of the space has been reconsideration, we redefined the center of the home – kitchen. The female homeowner can take care of them while cooking. The meaning of home life is redefined with small but definite happiness.
