Northbridge Whisky Bottle

Northbridge Whisky Bottle is an award-winning packaging design that exemplifies the fusion of Scandinavian minimalism with North-Copenhagen's unpretentious character, created by Danish designer Amanda-Li Kollberg. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design category, features a sophisticated 500ml glass bottle with a wooden cork closure, incorporating both embossed elements and screen-printed product information in a thoughtfully balanced composition. The bottle's design draws inspiration from Dronning Louises Bro, Copenhagen's iconic bridge known for its vibrant urban culture and highest bicycle traffic globally, reflecting the city's dual nature of refinement and accessibility. The visual language employs a deliberate interplay of symmetry and asymmetry, with translucent glass enhancing the legibility of product information through strategic placement. The design successfully bridges the gap between premium and accessible whisky segments, featuring carefully considered details that elevate the overall aesthetic while maintaining approachability. The project, developed through international collaboration between Copenhagen and Berlin, represents a significant innovation in spirits packaging design, particularly noteworthy for its ability to capture the essence of Copenhagen's cultural identity through its material choices and visual elements. The design's execution demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its production methodology, utilizing a combination of hand sketching, digital illustration, and 3D prototyping to achieve its final form, while the interaction between screen printing and embossing creates a sophisticated multi-layered visual and tactile experience.
