Frances Barth is a renowned American artist. She was born in 1937 in Brooklyn and was a student at Brooklyn College where she earned her Masters in Painting in 1960. Her career in the art world spans more than five decades. She has had numerous solo exhibitions at major museums and galleries in both the US and abroad including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. She is known for her interdisciplinary approach to paintings and works that link together the intricate patterns of nature and the human form. Her most well-known works are her large-scale pieces that make use of bold colors and organic forms such as her iconic The Garden of Eden and Articulated Wall.
