This project transforms a disused cement factory into a coffee space interwoven with an urban park, preserving the building's raw shell while introducing layers of light, texture, and greenery. The design abandons excessive remodeling in favor of a poetic rebirth an adaptive reuse approach that honors the passage of time. Through natural materials, modular zones, and open interaction with nature, the space offers a soft retreat from urban pressure, encouraging moments of solitude, connection, and pause within the margins of daily life.

Yi Zhou
Zhou Yi is an experienced designer who graduated from Nanjing University. She is a member of the Architectural Society of China, a council member of the Wuxi Interior Design Association, and a visiting professor in the Art Department of Jiangyin College. Grounding her practice in local culture, she honors traditional heritage while embracing forward-thinking perspectives, approaching her work with an exploratory mindset focused on the interactions between people and objects, as well as among individuals themselves. Her core design philosophy centers on crafting spaces that resonate emotionally and convey deeper meaning, blending cultural roots with thoughtful curiosity to create environments that feel intentional and profoundly connected to their users.

Dayi Design
Dayi Design, founded in 2020, is committed to the design and research of unique perspectives in architecture and interior space, creating outstanding visual art for each project. The team has the determination to break through self-boundaries, international design vision and systematic project management strategy. It insists on taking local culture as the starting point, respecting tradition, looking to the future, and practicing the interaction between people and objects, and people in the process of space creation with an exploratory attitude. The owner Zhou Yi graduated from Nanjing University, is a member of the Chinese Architecture Society, and a visiting professor of the Art Department of Jiangyin College. After graduation, I studied and worked abroad. When I went deep into the Western cultural context, I felt that the local Chinese culture was more tense and inclusive; After returning to China, I returned to my hometown Jiangyin, a county town in southern Jiangsu. This city is actually a very conflicting city due to historical and geographical reasons. In such a small city, we hope to explore the relationship between people and space in this land from the perspective of an observer, based in Jiangyin, an atypical Jiangnan town. We hope to interpret tradition from a modern perspective. We hope to continue the tradition in a way that is more suitable for young people, using some rich colors, psychedelic lights, new materials, etc.
