D-bue is a special kind of music competition: every two years, selected students from German music academies present their individual artistic ideas in a series of concerts. Bloom has developed a customised communication concept for this special format. The focus is on a dynamic sound sculpture created from a 3D sound visualisation. It takes the human ear as its starting point and moulds itself along the sound logo developed for the competition as a symbol of the experimental, the unheard. The neologism Unheardible complements the visual and ensures visibility and recognisability.

D-Bue Wettbewerb
The special thing about D-bue is that it is both a competition and a platform for further qualification and exchange. In addition, the public performances are also intended to specifically address people who have previously had little interest in classical concerts. The performances will not take place at established venues for classical concerts; rather, unusual venues will provide creative impetus and create space for unusual formats. Based on the aim of promoting “innovative” concerts through the competition, one of the primary objectives of D-bue is to permanently integrate diverse approaches to concert design into teaching, establish them in universities and anchor them in the long term. By feeding D-bue experiences back into the universities, an unconventional and experimental music culture is to be promoted in the university context and students are to be qualified for their professional life in a forward-looking way. As a competition and platform, D-bue is thus part of a changing university, concert and performance culture.
