Chromaheat AI is an intelligent heating jacket that utilizes AI-driven temperature regulation and thermochromic yarn to provide adaptive warmth and real time visual feedback . Its self trained AI system adjusts heating based on age, gender, and environmental conditions, optimizing thermal comfort across different temperatures, humidity levels, and wind speeds. The color changing yarn offers visible heat indicators, enhancing safety, usability, and monitoring. Designed for daily wear, its energy efficient automated control makes it ideal for healthcare applications and smart textiles.

Ching Lee, Jeanne Tan and Jun Jong Tan

Ching Lee, Prof. Jeanne Tan, and Jun Jong Tan form a multidisciplinary innovation team at the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Ching Lee is a PhD researcher specializing in the application of artificial intelligence in temperature-regulating textiles. Professor Jeanne Tan, from the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) at PolyU, leads the team with expertise in intelligent textile design. Jun Jong Tan is an engineer who contributes technical expertise in system development and integration.The team's groundbreaking work focuses on the development of smart interactive illuminative textiles and AI-powered temperature-regulating garments.

Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab)

AiDLab is the first research platform that focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with design. It was jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the UK, and is funded by the HKSAR Government under the InnoHK Research Clusters. Located at the Hong Kong Science Park, AiDLab has established a new creative cluster of AI in design and is in a leading position internationally to conduct interdisciplinary research that drives innovation and sustainability, and makes a positive impact on both industry and society. AiDLab brings together a diverse mix of leading researchers and practitioners from its founding institutions to conduct research in two thematic programmes: Ergonomic and Inclusive Design and Intelligent Fashion Design and Quality Control.
