Punta Piedra is a waterfront masterplan development in the city of Carmelo, Uruguay. This is a human scale micro city, 100% ecologically oriented, based on a 15 minutes city concept premise. Its oval shape has been conceived as an elliptical boulevard called the Gran Via, which runs through the entire enterprise from the forest inland into the Rio de la Plata waters. Located all along it you can find residences, offices, commercial and cultural areas, nurseries, schools, the yacht club, promenade, parks and beaches to give it functionality and public-spirited presence 24/7.

Rodriguez Pons Architects is an architectural and urban planning company, with experience and multi-disciplinary expertise. Have got a track record with projects in more than 20 countries – some designed, others under construction and many completed works. Part of their professional work during the first years was of a conceptual nature, and gradually, as the years passed, their ideas materialized into concrete projects. They imagine and design nearly "everything", from everyday products such as chairs, tables, books and wine labels to vibrant hotels and even the masterplan of a new city. Rdriguez Pons Architects believe that when they are making a new project, they are imagining, solving and building a fragment of the future.
