| DESIGN NAME: Paula PRIMARY FUNCTION: Storage Rack INSPIRATION: After covid 19, people have an inner desire for open space and psychological freedom. Of course, they also want a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in their home life. Including many home decorations nowadays, the boundaries of rooms are being removed, so we use this piece of DIY furniture to meet the storage needs of users. It is not limited to space or scene. The flexible and lightweight form can be placed in various spaces. At the same time Give users a different experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Paula's design focuses on integrating products into lifestyle.Exploring the variability of family scenes, getting rid of the traditional furniture impressions such as shelves, TV cabinets, etc., and reconstruct the home space with changeable products.Paula can be used as a storage rack when placed vertically, and it can be used as a TV cabinet by moving the position of the movable shelf.It can adapt to a variety of scenarios and usage environments, and is flexible and changeable. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Paula can be disassembled into eight iron pipes and two iron frames. The user fixes the frame with screws. The back plate is pre-installed on the iron frame, which can effectively reduce the user's installation difficulty and time. The movable floor plate can be directly placed on the iron frame. , easy to install. There are three storage heights in the shelf, which can accommodate the placement of books and various items. When placed horizontally as a TV cabinet, the space can be used to store game consoles, DVDs, PS4 and other products, and the size is reasonable. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Paula is made of iron and wood. The main body is an iron frame. The movable shelves and back plates are made of wooden boards. The iron frame is fixed with screws and the shelves are directly placed on the frame. The whole unit adopts a detachable form to meet the needs of flatbed transportation and achieve rapid assembly with great flexibility. The walnut wood grain highlights the feeling of the depths of the forest, making the product closer to nature and more stable, adding to the sense of product value. Especially after the epidemic, people also want a free and open space and atmosphere at home, so furniture is becoming more and more flexible and lightweight. We used thin iron pipes and wooden boards to design an exquisite shelf using the most conventional materials through calculation to meet the needs of different spaces, different families, and different scenes. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge in researching products is that we reasonably plan the usage sizes of the products. Through research on the sizes of books, magazines, decorative parts, potted plants, game consoles, DVDs, PS4, XBOX and other products of different sizes, we calculate the most reasonable and optimal size. The streamlined division method can meet the needs of placing items in different spaces. The simple and detachable form allows users to quickly install, DIY at home to enhance the fun and use experience, and better integrate into various locations in the home environment.
