Designful Company Designation
The Designful Company Designation is a recognition granted by the A’ Design Award on behalf of international design community to thank to companies that actively engage in good design practices and principles. Good Design is Good Karma, is the tagline of the recognition.

The aim of the program is to recognize enterprises who actively invest in design, as well as to push these brands to once again to promote good design in order to help create a global understanding and appreciation of good design worldwide. We expect, but not oblige, brands with Designful Company designation, to create a press release and marketing campaign about their design stories.

Designful Companies have been suggested and voted by A’ Design Award laureates; award winning designers, artists and architects, as well as the A’ Design Award grand jury which consists of editors of prominent design publications, design professionals and scholars. There are no fees for taking part in the program, the sole condition for nomination is active involvement and investment in innovation, design, art and cultural programs that promote positive change. Companies cannot nominate themselves but must be nominated by either our laureates or the award jury.

Eligibility for Designful Company Designation: 1) Must actively maintain a Design, R&D or Culture Department. 2) Must actively engage with the design society through participation in and organization of design events, conferences, gatherings and awards. 3) Must actively use Design to differentiate, improve and add value to its offerings, products and services.

Every year, thousands of companies are nominated for the accolade but only a handful of them are deemed worthy of this prestigious recognition. A’ Design Award invites the Designful Companies to further take part in the World Design Patron initiative to create a stronger bond and further contributions to society. Investing in good design is perhaps the most important contribution for our future as it leads to a better World where good design products, projects and experiences create positive value for society in terms of better ecology, economy, efficiency and aesthetics. Good design has an enormous impact on economic, social, cultural, and environmental development of our society.

The Designful Company Designation aims to highlight companies who actively invest in design and aims to amplify the value and impact of good design initiatives by these companies by shining a spotlight on them. The list of companies which have been selected for this recognition are available at the Designful Company Index.

Recipients of the Designful Company designation (sometimes noted as the Designful Company Award) can also use the Designful Company logo in their marketing and communications free of charge; A' Design Award grants a license to the Designful Companies to use the logos. Only the companies, enterprises and institutions noted in the List of Designful Companies can use the logo.

To note once again, this is a non-profit initiative of the A' Design Award. The Designful Company designation recipients are not asked to make any financial contributions to the accolade nor are required to pay any fees or cover expenses. We only ask Designful Companies to promote good design, we belive the designation status could play an active role and provide an added opportunity to promote good design to their respective audiences.

Please kindly note that Designful Company Designation recipients are not A' Design Award laureates which follows a different methodology, however Designful Companies are of course are invited to take part in the A' Design Award in their respective design accolade categories.
