| DESIGN NAME: IM Collection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Necklace INSPIRATION: This design according to the original shape of Natural pencil emeralds.Every uncut emerald has its own flaws and defects. but the designer has found a natural beauty sense of reality from them.Modeling combining the letters I and M, means:I'M,peopl UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The IM collection is a symbol of individuality,All necklaces are similar but at the same time different from each other , they all have different shapes, different colors of gold and natural pencil emeralds.Each emerald has different lengths and thicknesses,and the metal parts are also dealt with in detail. To reduce the waste of the gemstone prototype, respecting resources and natural. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each pencil-shaped rough emerald is a gift from nature. This natural feel of the necklaces make them perfect for everyday wear while prompts the wearer to discover the own beauty and to follow their heart。 PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started and finished in October 2018 in Guangzhou, China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 18 K rose, yellow, white gold with natural pencil emeralds SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Weight 3-4 g, length 11 mm ,Width 11 mm , thickness 3 mm TAGS: jewellery,commercial jewelry, gold, emeralds, necklace RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project research on the design and development of commercial products of pencil emerald. Need to study gemstone mosaic techniques.The design works with the original crystal form of uncut emeralds, which draws a correlation between human and gems. Mainly presents an attitude towards life,discovering our true beauty. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to combining irregular uncut emerald with commercial batch production process.the design of gemstone mosaic is an innovation of this collections.It is necessary to scan the stone shape with a 3 D scanner and design software let gem and metal be perfectly inlaid.
