| DESIGN NAME: Vertical Wood PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The public space of “Vertical Wood” has a large beam lying across due to the building’s architectural structure, thus a vital topic for this project is how to eliminate the volume and pressure of the ceiling for this residential space. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The spatial planning takes into consideration the location and circulation arrangement for each of the spatial unit. The design uses pale colored tone with leisurable trend favored by the house owner, which massively adopted mellow wood tone to establish the foundation of quality. As for the choice of soft furnishings, a relaxing element is adapted to create the warm colored living space featuring both aesthetics and spatial ambience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This space continues the fresh and natural nature of the public area, accomplishing distinctive spatial layers through colors. The private space uses the more delicate wooden flooring and customized dressing room to accomplish the extension of quality and uniqueness of design, and the overall colors further demonstrate the unworldly comfortable sentiment with the high degree of natural lighting. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Architectural concrete stylish wall is used after entering the foyer, extending all the way to the living room wall cabinet on the right, forming a spatial circulation with the gradual wooden television cabinet; the bright colored paintings guide the visual axis through the projection from the track lighting, while the slanted high cabinet on the left turns into the kitchen wall, applying unique design skills and variations towards the texture of constructional material to accomplish echo between the left and the right for the public space, which is the unique part of the project. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 120 square meters TAGS: Interior Design, Residential ,House,Space RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The public area establishes the venue boundary using warm and medium saturation colored wooden texture, dividing the dining room and the living room venues via the circulation; the push and slide door with the wall jointly structure the façade of the dining room, where the raw wood colored dining table accentuates the tranquil atmosphere of the space. CHALLENGE: The wooden cabinet frames the television wall, leaving the center with spacious area, while the light brown leather sofa reflects the main color tone of the public space. The ceiling also extends in a slanted direction to integrate with the public space, which further eliminates the pressure of the structural beam; the three aspects including the ceiling, the floor and the wall introduce the overall 3D space enriched in fun and natural sentiment.
