| DESIGN NAME: Awakening by the Pool PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multi-dwelling Residential Apartment INSPIRATION: The Idea of making the space feel like "Home" within itself was our answer. The use of basic materials and being sensitive to them. I idea was to design a home where kids and pets can gleefully move around and enjoy the space. We like it when our things are used and does not get dusty. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Animate pads are fun to design. They demand eclecticism and imagination, in exchange for an often less-than-generous offer of space. The space was substantial and had to accommodate the stylish living demands of a young industrialist who came back from the States and wanted a loft style design.With sustainable design approach & exposed bricks, concrete & wood. We integrated the elements in a language that uplifts the natural quality of each material, giving the residence a natural, earthy feel. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With sustainable design approach, we worked with exposed brick work and polished concrete flooring. We have integrated all these elements in a language that uplifts the natural quality of each material, giving the residence a natural, earthy feel. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We have tried to explore only three materials : Concrete, wood & bricks in the overall layout. Apart from engaging with architecture and design, The Crossboundaries seeks to provide a viable platform to artists, visual designers, sculptors and varied creatives to work and grow together. The firm in its second year itself won the National Award for Excellence in Retail Interior Design by IIID, Nominated as one of the top 50 Generation next designers to look at in 2017 and won the FOAID (Future of Architecture and Interior Designers) Gold Award the same year. |
