| DESIGN NAME: Lacrimosa PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bridal, wedding, party, red carpet INSPIRATION: Pheren Couture's collection is entirely inspired by historical fashion of the late 1700s to 1900s, with a splash of fantasy, out of the box architectures (from Romanesque to Rococo era), classical to metal music, untouched nature and warriors from all cultures. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We are living life on this world. A life is full of mystery, curiosity, and uncertainty. We are born and we die. Lacrimosa is the magical transformation of birth, weddings and the death. Based on the concept, Pheren Couture proposes elegant and femininity, yet powerful looks designed through unique viewpoints of extreme nature; the delicates, authentic beauty of leaves, flowers and skeletal. This collection is a magical transformation of romantic Victorian and hard-edged element. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This collection started in October 2018 and finished in January 2019. Pheren Couture's collection has been chosen to be the closing at the NYFW A/W19 on February 9th 2019 and has been featured on Elle, Harper's Bazaar, The Cut, Washington Square News and many more. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Crystals, glass beads and tulle were used to make this collection. It took around 150 hours per piece for this collection because of the details. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: US size 4 TAGS: Bridal, Fantasy , Wedding, Dark, Haute Couture , Wedding , Fabric Manipulation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I started doing research in Victorian and Rococo interior design of some of the palace in Europe. I learned about the pattern and textures and combined it with the strokes of branches from trees, wild flowers and skeletal. CHALLENGE: The challenge was the sewing technique. Most of the pieces from this collection are asymmetrical and has the 3D look on the top part. All the details of each piece took a while to finish. NAME: Pheren Couture PROFILE: Pheren Couture is a Hollywood based clothing and accessories line. Pheren Couture has become synonymous with elegance and uniqueness. Her collection has been featured in leading publications such as Harper's Bazaar and Elle. She had the opportunity to create custom looks for a number of high profile clients including diplomats and musicians from Sweden such as Elize Ryd. Her past collections has won multiple awards at the International Design Awards in Los Angeles back in 2017. |
