| DESIGN NAME: Taq Kasra PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pendant INSPIRATION: Taq Kasra,which means kasra arch, is the memento of The Sasani Kingdom that is now in Iraq. It’s architecture is a method named Parthian dynasty and it’s attribute is subjectivism with making arch.This structure is made for showing greatness and wealth and also To astonish the other countries. This jewel is inspired by the geometry of Taq kasra and also the greatness and subjectivism that shows personality, having tried to bring power,art, and also individuality abreast each other as a jewelry. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The most important attribute for a jewelry bring the wealth, uniqueness and individuality for user .This piece inspired by the greatness of former sovereignties that was in their structure and subjectivism, has been used in this architectural method to make this ethos. The other attribute is it’s modern design that has made it a piece with a distinct view so that form the side view it looks like a tunnel and brings subjectivism and form the frontal view it has made an arched space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This piece by making a deep connection with the user gives them the feeling of uniqueness, amps the connection with their inner ecstasy and also the usage of the colors black and white has made the piece a modern and fancy jewel for everyday use. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2018 and finished in February 2019 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The jewelry piece is modelled with computer and printed out with 3D printing and casted to be used as a mold. Materials are 18k yellow and black gold with a white pearl and enamel. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Pendant size is 30mm x 22mm and pipe thickness is 0.6mm Pearl size is 8mm. TAGS: fashion, accessory, art jewelry, Jewelry design, Iranian Jewelry, Persian Jewelry, Modern Jewelry, azadi tower, pendent, ideal , twisting pendant , twist RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research began when I was researching Tehran’s ‘Azadi Tower’ and there is an arch there, that is inspired by ‘Taq kasra’ and then my researches form Taq kasra begun, in the meantime I also did some researches on the purpose of its forging and its architecture too. Also For modernizing the piece, the modern architecture was studied carefully. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to carve a unique freeform pendant that as a jewelry designer with engineering background, It has been tried to create a design including both geometry and art elements. The other challenge was modernizing the shape and geometry of Taq kasra by keeping the arched form and it’s subjectivism meaning.
