| DESIGN NAME: My Dream Art Space PRIMARY FUNCTION: Flexible Retail and Exhibition Space INSPIRATION: Our inspiration comes from combining the dreams of the National Stadium of Beijing with our own spatial realization. The stadium is a place to harness the dreams of athletes and our dream was to promote a space to encourage creativity and sharing. This we started to explore materials that exudes a sense of transparency and lightweight character in order the merge 2 different discipline of dreams. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: “The Dream” is a multi-faceted art space for exhibition and sales of interactive products while also conduct art and cultural exchanges for visitors. It can also be used as a small exhibition as well as small events hosting platform. The design is an accumulation of people, creativity, commercialization aspects and discussions of all thing related to the creative industry. It is not a traditional retail spaces but an enclosure that can be transform by its visitors, artist and anyone interested in being inspired and creative. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Corrugated Lightweight PVC panels. Perforated steel louvres for ceiling. Medium Density Fiberboard sculpture for storage. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The Gross Floor Area is 200sqm TAGS: flexible,lightweight RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: To innovate a spatial design that can be adaptable to a variety of functionality for the creative and educational industry. We have to think very carefully on how to design a space that does not conflict with the existing architectural structure of the national stadium while also prevail a sense of lightweight emotion as an entity that exist within this space.
