| DESIGN NAME: Lounge Grandeur PRIMARY FUNCTION: Public Service For Residence Building INSPIRATION: The Lounge is the perfect spot for human interaction. We hope to build a public lounge area where residents really love to use, like an extension of their living space. The lounge is arranged in four different areas at four corners; there are dining lounge, bar, library and fun gym, residents can freely study and work out on their own, or simply relaxing and hanging out with friends. One can easily see different and intriguing characters in each space. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Lounge Grandeur is a vivid embodiment of luxurious living environment and style. A sharing living space worth spending some quality time in. The look is dazzling and eye-catching. The public space defines the senses and tastes of the real users. Entering the main building, the grand entrance hall is an oval hub that leads residents as well as visitors into four domains of the lounge. In this transitional passing space, we aim to provide a peace of mind. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We hope to build a public lounge area where residents really love to use, like an extension of their living space. The lounge is arranged in four different areas at four corners; there are dinning lounge, bar, library and fun gym, residents can freely study and work out on their own, or simply relaxing and hanging out with friends. Each individual space is visually designed to interpret its functions, one can easily see different and intriguing characters in each space. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in summer 2017 and was completed in February 2018, and open to residents in March 2018 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The interaction between free lines, harmonious shapes and layers of ceilings are our main approach to designing the interior space. As the elevated oval hall reveals a generous character, lines defining the longitude and altitude of the lounge space, the metal floral filters by the window of the bar enriches the natural lighting into the space and tells a more subtle story of the space. The choice of wall stone is relatively in a solemn and calming tone, the wooden texture of ceiling design and the table is medium to convey the warm human touch into space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the layout of designed space is about 1700 square meters TAGS: public space, style, functionality, lobby, service area, dazzling look RESEARCH ABSTRACT: none CHALLENGE: Entering the main building, the grand entrance hall is an oval hub that leads residents as well as visitors into four domains of the lounge. In this transitional passing space, we aim to provide a peace of mind with the visuals of round objects, line grills, hanging conceptual adornment and sunlight flowing through open glass walls. All those factors create a calming and relaxing mindset for the passengers, so they can take a deep breath and decide which service areas to head to, following the route around the oval void. Within the oval void, two spiral staircases lead residents to the B1 parking space.
