| DESIGN NAME: Hiking PRIMARY FUNCTION: Store Interior INSPIRATION: Demonstrating the confidence and persistence for the greatest challenge climbing the highest mountain in the world, Rock Land mildly exhibits the brand image, as a mountain, by building surfaces with appealing slope of 50 degrees in its shop. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: People’s safety is dependent on the ropes when participating to the outdoor sports activities, esp. extremes sports and climbing. Rock Land, a store selling the outdoor outfits and equipment, sees itself as the rope that assuredly secures the relationship between people and nature. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To effectively express the concepts of life needs to the store space, the designer applied the exclusive features of natural elements such as eco-friendly woods, red bricks, etc. that show the continuous efforts to preserve the sustainable environment. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Rock Land, an outdoor store, has extensive indoor space built on the basis of the idea of decentralizing, where people can freely try its products. Rock Land ceilings massively decorated with wood triangles display the figures of undulating mountains in the store. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 220 square meters TAGS: Interior Design,Public Space, Store design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The staircase walls, from the first floor to B1, are adorned with the crisscrossed woods mimicking the contour of mountains. The design skills staggering woods, in divergent textures, artistically symbolize the courage to overcome the challenges from nature. The red brick walls ornamented in B1 spawn the pleasant ambience. CHALLENGE: The applications of decoration materials pursue the agreeable balance between the aesthetic compositions and environmental protections. By means of the applications of innovative experiments, the reinforcement of design works uniqueness and originality amiably integrates the technology and life style. The efforts consolidating the diverse tangible and intangible values are now comprehensively demonstrating the design skills and aesthetics to the design works as well.
