RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
BNJN Design conducts conscientiously in-depth researches and investigations for each project. When designer Ben Goh reads the word "Light Beyond Illumination", it suddenly inspires him that in the age of Internet of Things lighting does not only mean lights, but data, things, people, spaces, landscape, software, environment…and moreover, it is the future. For Philips lighting, light means more potentials, values, and possibilities in people lives, which go far beyond illumination. So that’s the very core and vision of its brand, which are well integrated in the interior design.

CHALLENGE:
How to express and strengthen the corporate culture in the design process? This is a common challenge for all design projects. In the interior design project at Philips Lighting HQ, there is a big issue in the original hall space: the length of the entrance was only less than 10 meters, but its width is approximately 31 meters, and the functional spaces like elevator and restroom are in the central area, the door is facing right to the vacant space through 2nd floor and nothing can be hidden, and also, the entrance is not in a central position… Just like all daring ideas, it’s vital for designer to persuade the client with confidence and extensive expertise. One setback in the mockup phase is now challenging the designer: one whole plate of wall-size glass is not available. It means more than one piece is needed, and the seam is unavoidable. The client is therefore hesitant about the design.
