| DESIGN NAME: New Oriental PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Chang Chao, the Chinese poet of late 1600s, once wrote in his literature work Dream Shadows, Beauties to be accompanied when enjoying the flowers, Scholars to be accompanied when drinking under moonlight, and hermits to be accompanied when strolling in the snow. Through the transparency of fields, triggering the reflection of the existing meaning and reality, and superimposing a unique and rich living experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: From the architecture and the city, designer intend to locate the context of design and encircle the balance between of human interaction, and explore the rich expression of life from the temperature of calm. Designer uses materials, light, and proportions to construct the unique aesthetics of generosity in oriental culture, integrating the elegant texture of western one, and create the concept of the New Oriental Aesthetics. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The primary roof compartment creates a narrow space and poor lighting. Considering the building location and seasonal changes of lights, we redefine and allocate spatial scales to make appropriate plans. With the simple and pure designed appearance, one can feel the essence of life, environmental symbiosis, and fine design, etc., and accumulate rich emotions in the process of continuous reflection. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Natural stone, solid woods, and eco-friendly materials are responsible for the relaxation and stability required in the environment from the interior and exterior. This not only becomes a stable field for repairing unease mood, but also a space for time expressing. Through exquisite emphasis on material proportions and texture, the well-executed space lines are reduced to a proper aesthetic, while the shape and meaning of generosity in space are expressed via horizontal and vertical interfaces. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The indoor area is approximately 200 square meters. TAGS: oriental, eco-friendly, elegant texture of western, transparency RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The major wall behind the living room sofa is mainly made of natural stone. Through dividing ratios, the designing sequence becomes the background and the visual focus of the space formation. The rear is designed for reading, and the arrangement of the walls gives partial cutouts, extending the penetration which not only showing the level of elegance, but also the degree of extension between the lines perfectly. CHALLENGE: The primary roof compartment creates a narrow space and poor lighting. Considering the building location and seasonal changes of lights, we redefine and allocate spatial scales to make appropriate plans. With the overlapping of scenes, a plane-like yet profound sense of space is created. From the internal and external levels of interaction, people would unintentionally feel comfortable, and also carry the infinite charm of the field as the time sequence changes.
