| DESIGN NAME: A-Stool PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bar Stool INSPIRATION: For thousands of years people have been surrounding by symbols. Such as symbols of water, fire, earth, air, femininity and masculinity, state and religious symbols etc. Separate group of symbols is occupied by symbols of leadership and success. One of such symbol is letter "A". "A" is the first letter of most alphabets around the globe. "A" is called upon to be first. "A" by its name leads to success. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Refined silhouette of the bar stool most closely resembles the letter "A". Where the legs are side lines and the footrest is crossing middle line. The stool is light in weight and easy to manufacture yet very strong. The "A"stool has particular construction with metal core what allows the bar stool to have slender legs with reliable durability and sustainability. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Pretty simple and at the same time exquisite design of the bar stool allows to find the place for it in a variety of interiors such as public interiors (cafe, restaurant, bar and so on) and home interiors. The stool can be done in wide number of color schemes due to its unique design. The "A" stool is comfortable to seat on owing to its ergonomic parameters. The stool is compact in size that allows to increase number of seats. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2018 in Dubai and currently being under process of production. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The core is made out of aluminium. Footrest is bended pipe. The rest is solid wood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 400 mm x Depth 380 mm x Height 765 mm TAGS: Barstool, Stool, Wood, Style RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Since the stool supposed to be designed gracefully and elegantly I had a task to find combination of appropriate materials and technical solutions that would allow me to get planned look of the stool and great strength. To do that I built several mockups and found suitable type of wood and worked out metal construction. CHALLENGE: The greatest challenge was that with the help of classic joinery it is impossible to get planned look and strength of the bar stool. Therefore the solution was to design aluminium core which plays not only constructive role but decorative as well in the form of brackets holding the seat. NAME: Dmitry Kozachyshyn PROFILE: Dmitry Kozachyshyn is a young Ukrainian furniture designer who has ten years experience in designing and producing classic style furniture. After getting enouhg experience in classic furniture he began his own artistic way in designing modern style furniture. It took few years to form his own style. The unique feature of his style is not only creating geomrtic shapes but givinng to it more deeper ideas, such as play of light and shadows and shaping spatial illusions. In his creative work, he tries to present furniture as an art object that you encounter in everyday life and which has a utilitarian function. |
