| DESIGN NAME: Aemyrie Igneum PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wood Fired Oven INSPIRATION: Over three years of research, development and preparation took place before Aemyrie was founded in 2016 with the ambition to create an entirely new market sector at the top of the outdoor living space. Aemyrie is dedicated to a philosophy of bringing the finest cooking experiences to those who appreciate beauty and bespoke craftsmanship as much as they do gastronomic perfection and characterises traditional construction methods, brand values and cooking styles. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The name Aemyrie is derived from the old English word for ember and symbolises the most luxurious and technically advanced wood fired ovens available. The grilling chambers benefit from the input of leading chefs, allied with safe and environmentally friendly Aerogel insulators originally developed by NASA for use in the Space Programme. At the heart of each product is a world first, patent pending intelligent control system and a powerful computer running adaptive software. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction experience and user interface took many months of research and testing to finalise resulting in a control panel which is simplicity itself to operate. A highly intuitive digital display panel provides easy access to each function and everything has been designed so that the user can fully immerse themselves in the great pleasures of cooking. The fully automated functionality and computer systems control hidden fans and variable vents to constantly monitor and manage airflow ensuring perfectly cooked food. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The idea of Aemyrie was born in August 2012 following a gastronomic group holiday to Tuscany, and following over three years of research and development became formalised as a Company in April 2016. Since then the Aemyrie team further refined, prototyped and developed unique operating systems before officially launching and taking pre-orders in July 2017. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Our team comprises artisan craftsmen, experienced designers and professional fabricators who combine to create a unique blend of personalised options and finishes. Every unit is built to order affording the side panels and control features to be made in any feasible material or finish to make this a true centrepiece. Aemyrie brings a quality unseen before making a statement which has a far greater reach than simply ownership, instead encapsulating a sense of belonging and commitment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 1,540mm x Depth 660mm x Height 1,400mm TAGS: luxury, wood-fired, oven, bespoke, outdoor, kitchen, grill, barbecue, innovation, hand made RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Initial research and focus group workshops were conducted in 2015 & 2016 with the purpose of defining the most desirable characteristics of what was then available to the global market along with presenting five aesthetic concepts that we had developed. Groups consisted of both male and female participants in three cadres; members of the public interested in cooking and outdoor living; market experts, competition barbecue teams and judges; and professional chefs. This feedback helped to inform the strategic direction in which the overall design, aesthetic and positioning followed. CHALLENGE: Even at the very highest end of the market, this sector is dominated by gas fuelled American products which are pre-built and off the shelf. Aemyrie strives to offer a distinctly unique solution which is completely bespoke, exclusively fuelled by real wood and entirely built by hand in England. It was also our aim to depart with the stereotype of male-centric positioning, instead to appeal to and identify with a far wider and female inclusive audience.
