| DESIGN NAME: M1 Collection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: The first M1 collection was created under the inspiration of the mechanical world - gears, bolts, and nuts served as prototypes for the jewels creation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Jewelry collection with mechanical moving elements. In dimensionless ring a gear rotates and allows to change the size of the ring. A small gear is also mobile. Construction of the ring with a crystal allows to replace the stone. The parts of the crab ring are moved by a spring mechanism. In the ring with a bead the stone is rotating when putting on and removing the ring. Another ring has a rotating nut. The size of the bracelet is adjustable, allowing to fix it due to the side screws and nuts. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the ring with a crystal, a mechanism makes it easy to replace the stone. Second unusual ring consists of several movable parts. The outer large gear rotates along the big thread up and down, allowing you to change the size of the ring. A small gear, located in the center, contains a small stone and is also mobile. Another ring is made according to the principle of a regular hair clip-crab. The two parts are interconnected by a small spring and, due to this, they are mobile. A massive bracelet contains 14 small and two large screws. By twisting the nuts on the large screws, you can change the size of the bracelet. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project has started in 2017 and is a result of the first year of studying in British Higher School of Art and Design, Moscow, Riussia |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Jewelry is made of silver with gold plating and inlays of stones (sapphires, rock crystal, labradorite). SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the rings are about 25*30*30 mm the bracelet is70*70*35 mm TAGS: mechanic, mechanism, jewelry, dimensionless, ring, moving RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Working on the collection I have analised a lot of different types of mechanisms and fasteners to choose the best shape, and moving technique for each peace of the collection CHALLENGE: In all my works I try to create something new and different. Many hardware stores and ironmonger's shops were visited to find the ideas and prototipes for the collection.
