| DESIGN NAME: Hakka Cuisine and Legacy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: In addition to Hakka people spirit, the Chinese history has been the main idea for the design plan. Applying the exposed concrete, the restaurant is decorated with iron window grilles that display the artistic and cultural style of Hakka food. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a noted Hakka restaurant which believe that in Chinese dietary culture, the Hakka food came from the historical stability and legacy which preserves the Hakka food as the charm presenting the spirit of Hakka people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Furnished with grey cement and black iron works, the building presents the simple and down-to-earth life style. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in July 2014 in Chiayi City, Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: At the entrance, a pool reminds people of the artistic conception of the stream flowing under bridge. The poetry-style indoor space manifests the mouth-watering atmosphere. The art incorporating both culture stone walls and modern design skills makes people feel both the nostalgia in cherished memories, and the surprise coming from Hakka food. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 680 square meters. TAGS: Interior Design, Restaurant RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The fixtures and decorations present the essence of Hakka tableware by window grilles, walls and ceiling applied with the characteristics of cantaloupe pattern and urn. CHALLENGE: Accompanying the large indoor space, the private booths display the domestic culture that each booth is branded by Hakka districts, making feasting a journey along the Hakka culture.
